The tomb of nobleman Karlo Natali is one of the important graves and monuments at the Cemetery Boninovo (Dubrovnik, Croatia).
Even though a nobleman was buried in it, and Karlo Natali was a fighter for freedom in turbulent period of French occupation and Austrian capture of Dubrovnik, his gravestone is distinctly modest and simple.
Tomb characteristics
This was one of the earliest tombs in the municipal cemetery of the Holy cross in Boninovo. On the flat stone slab there is an inscription in lead letters quoting the name and the age of the deceased. It represents a typical burial according to Dubrovnikers' notions of the appearance of a final resting place, not different from other similar "commonplace" gravestones in other Dubrovnik cemeteries. It gives 19th century Dubrovnik and throughout the 20th century.
