After the publication of the monograph on the Bologna sculptor, it is now possible to enjoy an overview of his entire activity in the monumental cemetery – featuring small works and colossal monuments – comparing him to the several artists who were active during the same period.

The San Girolamo Church – a treasure chest of Bologna painting

The real heart of the Carthusian monastery, the church is what remains of the magnificence of the complex, established in 1334 and closed in 1796. One of the most beautiful churches in Bologna, it hosts works by Cesi, and other masterpieces by the Siranis, Gessi, Canuti, Pasinelli and Bibiena.

Stralunate – A show featuring aerial dance and narration

On the moon or with one’s own feet firmly on the ground, two characters tell stories and talk about themselves between dreams and reality, the sky and the earth.

Discovering the plastic values of the Certosa. Tactile visit

The presence of thousands of artefacts, having plastic features, and sculptures offers a wide range of categories of works and the chance, by the use of touch, to make people understand any given artistic development and to analyze different sculpting techniques (bas-reliefs, high reliefs, full-relief statues). The visit is targeted in particular to the visually impaired and the blind, although being open to anyone.

A project by Simone Fagioli with Cecilia Mazzanti ballet dancers, photographs by Andrea Fiesoli.
An all-women appointment that by starting with a guided visit to the monuments dedicated to Bologna Women, will end at the photographic set of Cecilia Mazzanti. Andrea Fiesoli’s photographs are part of the project for the 2013 Calendar on the Certosa, to raise funds for its restoration.

Opening of the exhibition “Dalla Certosa al Museo - Restauri e acquisizioni”
The exhibition will provide an account of the multi-faceted restoration project of the Certosa monuments. Worth mentioning, among the works on display, six busts portraying distinguished Bologna citizens, and also other sculptures, sketches, documents and photographs donated or acquired by the Museum over the past few years.
