To commemorate the 97th anniversary of the Easter Rising Glasnevin Trust is running a series of events over the Holiday period.

Flag raising Ceremony, to honor the originators of the National Flag &
Anthem of the Republic Of Ireland who are interred in Glasnevin Cemetery.
Edward Hollywood (1814-1873): Silk weaver and member of the three-man
delegation that returned to Ireland from France in 1848 with the first Irish
tricolor. Peadar Kearney (1883-1942): Republican and songwriter who wrote the
lyrics to Amhrán na bhFiann in 1907. Wreaths will also be laid at both men’s
graves.
