On Sunday, 1st of June 2014, there will be a special, architecturally themed guided tour at West Norwood Cemetery in London.
To increase knowledge and appreciation of the West Norwood Cemetery, the organization “Friends of West Norwood Cemetery” hold guided tours on the first Sunday of every month, at 2.30 pm from April to October and at 11am from November to March. The tours include visits to the monuments of the most prominent individuals commemorated in the cemetery such as Sir Henry Doulton, Mrs Beeton, Baron de Reuter, Sir Henry Tate and Dr William Marsden. There is no formal charge for any event, but donations of £1 per person to help cover costs and aid conservation work are appreciated.
As contribution to the Week of discovering European Cemeteries 2014, “Friends of West Norwood Cemetery” will organize a special guided tour at the West Norwood Cemetery. It will take place on Sunday, 1st of June 2014, at 2.30 pm inside the cemetery main gate. The tour will be architecturally themed and led by Dr Brent Elliott (Victorian Society Buildings Committee member).
