This is part of a series of guided tours with apps, in order to share research and restoration work, our first having been on the tombs connected with Slavery and its Abolition on the anniversary of Frederick Douglass' visit to the Protestant Cemetery, 11 May 1887, to honour the tombs of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Theodore Parker and Richard Hildreth. You can read more about it on this link.
On July 28-29 we shall visit Monte Amiata with a City and Book VIII conference on the Anglo-Saxon Bibles at Whitby (Hilda and Caedmon's oral Bible), Wearmouth-Jarrow (the Codex Amiatinus) and Lindisfarne (the Lindisfarne Gospels), and present a relic of St Cuthbert to the Abbey.
On July 30 we shall commemorate Elizabeth Barrett Browning's burial here with a guided tour on her circle of friends. You can read more about it on this link.
