A new restored monument at the Monumentale of Milan

The restoration of "Ave Maria" sculpted by Giulio Branca in 1900 is an outstanding example of enlightened patronage accomplished through the synergy between the Municipality of Milan, Fondazione Bracco and Amici del Monumentale.
The monument belongs to the school of Italian social art and depicts an elderly farmer knelt down in prayer to give thanks for the daily crop.
Fonderia Artistica Battaglia carried out a meticulous restoration work that brought back the bronze sculpture and stone base to its original splendour.
Wednesday, 11th September, the monument will be unveiled in the presence of  the president of Fondazione Bracco, representatives from the Municipality, steering committee, volunteers and members of Amici del Monumentale  as well as key figures from the world of arts, science and literature.
